Swatchy Schemey

Introduction:      I was very excited to do this project because it did not seem too challenging and yet I got to learn a lot about color swatches and other tools in InDesign. I wanted to use my photostory photos, but most of the pictures had a lot of black in them. However, I did find this photo that shows off some of the colors of the studio. Other than the prominent desk colors, I wasn't sure which color to pick for my third color. I ended up choosing the yellow of the anchor's tie because I thought it was brighter than the surrounding colors and had a lot of significance to the photo.  Original Photo: This is the photo I chose for my color scheme. I liked the bright brown and purple colors from the desk and also found the yellow of the tie to be contrasting as well to the darker colors around it. Color Scheme: While they may not be the most beautiful, the colors of my color scheme where quite easy to find and create swathes out of. I knew that I could use the...

Me(me) is not impressed

As a meme lover myself, I was extremely excited for this project. I knew that I wanted to do something that involved politics because it is the most relevant thing right now. However, it wasn't until the Harris/Pence debate that I knew what I was going to do my meme on. Once I saw that fly on top of Pence's head, I immediately started thinking up ways to make that even funnier than it already was. For this assignment, I found a picture of Pence with the fly on his head and put in a picture of Biden so that it looks like he is flying a drone onto Pence’s head. I did this by using the polygonal selection tool and making a mask around Biden from a picture of him. Then I found another two pictures of someone holding a remote control and a drone and did the same thing to both of them. Then I made these image layers into smart objects and used the sizing tool and selection tool to make the images look more natural and moved the pictures into their proper places so it looked like Bi...

Instagrammish

When I first learned about this project I was not exactly sure if I would enjoy it. I have never been a person to use filters on my instagram posts, but I have seen plenty of them on other peoples' posts. I personally think the best filters are the ones that pull out the best colors of a photo. I used these photos because I wanted to show how my filter would look on different types of days and lighting.      I started my filter by adding a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. I then dragged the saturation slider until I felt the colors where bright enough. This happened to be at +43 saturation. Then I wanted to increase the brightness of the photo, so I added a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer. I slid the brightness slider to +43 because that is where the darker parts of the photo were more visible. Then to make the brightness less harsh, I decreased the contrast slider to -13. At this point, I thought the colors of the photo were a little too bright, ...
